The hotel is very quaint and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. A lovely place to stay to relax and to visit longleat which is nice and close.
A quirky and unusual B&B with lots of character.
Beautiful place, calm, we were very comfortable. Excellent staff, very friendly.
This hotel is difficult to categorise. The country house and setting are magnificent. The host could not have been more affable. The entrance hall, breakfast room, bar area and lounge are all striking in appearance and offer large relaxing spaces, with a profusion of decorative objects, and magnificent views towards Rode. I was offered a choice of rooms, and chose one offering a generous bathroom space with double sink, bath and shower, high quality towel sets, robes, soap, shampoo etc and fine view. The bedrooms offer a mix of country home and modern equipment. The set up is slightly towards boutique, with mini bar and box of goodies, and high quality flat screen tv with reasonable freeview reception. Bed linen and mattress were also finest quality, generous sized bed, sumptuous pllows. High attention is given to detail, including the very attractive breakfast service. The house is in generous grounds, with enough space and garden furniture that one can relax privately It is slightly on the eccentric side, but is unique and worth the money if you want a bit of quality, try something different and be near the towns but in the countryside. I booked for 3 nights and stayed an extra night just to relax.
We had a lovely stay at the House of Woolverton! The house is beautiful and very romantic, the room are modern and clean, the breakfast buffet has loads of choice and the winter garden is really nice in the morning... The Landlords are also very friendly and make sure you're having a great time! We will definitely recommend and come back.
I thought the size layout and furnishing of the room was excellent. The friendliness of the staff and service was immpecible. I've stayed in a few boutique hotels and this was up there with them.
Full English Breakfast should be included at this price.
Better then most 5 star hotels Great hosts Incredible location, beautiful view and a wonderful garden
Food could be tastier
The staff. Good continental breakfast in nice "winter garden". Access to large garden.
The garden has potential for improvements. The meaning of the word "premium" is pushed a little bit to far.
Everything! The warm welcome we received and the personnal touch of Roweena to make you feel welcome. The room was lovely with a great view too. Nothing was too much trouble. It was all the little touches that makes us want to return.
This is a lovely little hotel with a unique, charming character, and the owners Mike and Rowena make you feel right at home. The building itself is fascinating, each room is different, and mine had a view to the sweeping, green Somerset fields populated with sheep and butterflies. I'd definitely come back again.
There if free wi-fi, but the connection wasn't particularly good. However, if you're visiting for leisure (rather than business, as I did) you wouldn't need it anyway.
Amazing room, wondeful welcome, the perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries. Mike and Rowena are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The garden looked lovely, and the breakfast was relaxed and unhurried.A great stay, just wish it was longer!
Very cozy and worm place, ideal if you are looking for a more romantic and relaxing alternative to an hotel in Bath. Our room was large and with all comforts. Breakfast outside or in the luminous indoor patio is definitively a plus
Showers can be more modern and efficient, but the owner told us that they are planning a refurbishment in a few weeks
The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The house was interesting architecturally. The location was pleasant, The breakfast was excellent particularly as it was taken in a roomy conservatory with views of the surrounding countryside.
All the floorboards have been exposed to add to the atmosphere of the house, but this means it can get a little noisy particularly late at night if some guests go to their room in the small hours.
Rowena and Mike offered a well run B&B that felt much more like being welcomed by a family. This ranged from being able to choose our own room, having long conversations at the bar about gin and offering suggestions about how to cook the best steak. The house used to be an old rectory and is beautifully decorated.
The only points of improvement is that the house "squeaks" at night due to the old floorboards and the hot water is a little flakey. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay.
